Wagering requirements specify how much eligible betting must occur before a promotional balance becomes withdrawable. The multiplier is only half the formula; you also need to know which balance it applies to and how games contribute.
A worked example
Assume you deposit €100 and receive a €100 bonus.
- At 30× bonus wagering, the target is €100 × 30 = €3,000.
- At 30× deposit plus bonus, the target is (€100 + €100) × 30 = €6,000.
The same “30×” headline can therefore describe twice as much turnover. The target is cumulative stake, not the amount lost. A €1 spin adds €1 of eligible turnover regardless of whether it wins.
Contribution can slow progress
If slots contribute 100%, each €1 staked adds €1. If roulette contributes 10%, the same stake adds €0.10. At that rate, completing €3,000 of credited wagering would require €30,000 of roulette stakes. Some games contribute zero and can be prohibited while a promotion is active.
Maximum bet and restricted play
Promotions commonly cap the amount per spin or game round. The rule can apply even if the interface allows a larger stake. Terms may also prohibit strategies described as irregular play, repeated low-risk bets or coordinated accounts. Vague clauses deserve caution because they give the operator more interpretive room.
Why completion is not guaranteed
Suppose a player must stake €3,000 through a slot with a theoretical 96% RTP. The long-run expected loss across that turnover is about €120, but actual results can be much higher or lower over a short session. Volatility and random outcomes mean the balance may reach zero before the requirement is complete.
